testimonies from scholars

Jose, senior

"No matter what, I can reach out to someone from the Pursue Scholars staff, and they can help me out and explore what I want to do with my career or my life in general. I also learned about going back to the community and going back to where you are from and helping them out. I’m not alone and there’s people that believe in me and are willing to walk alongside me," said Jose.

Angelina, sophomore

"[Pursue Scholars] has provided an awesome community I can go to, and I’m a part of a family with Pursue Scholars. If I'm ever needing help or struggling to find encouragement, I know Pursue Scholars is there," said Angelina.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is the difference between each scholarship?

We currently have the Daniel Scholarship which is offered over four years. This scholarship follows the Scholars wherever they choose to go to school. Scholars are granted up to $10,000 in scholarship money. Pursue Scholars also partners with Trinity Christian College. This is a full-tuition scholarship given to Scholars that are selected to attend Trinity Christian College exclusively.

  • What are the qualifications to become a Pursue Scholar?

At Pursue Scholars, we welcome all Chicago leaders.  Requirements are listed above at the beginning of the page.

  • When do the scholarship applications open?

    Applications open in the winter.

  • Can you lose your scholarship if your GPA falls below a certain average?

We provide resources and support for our Scholars to prevent their GPA from falling to a low average, this sets our Scholars up for a higher rate of success in college.

  • Can I apply to more than one scholarship program?

Yes! You can apply to both scholarship programs! However, only one scholarship can be awarded per Scholar. If you are awarded one you are no longer eligible to receive the other.
