       Daniel Scholarship Program

About the Program

The Daniel Scholars program is an urban leadership development & scholarship program designed to equip and train Chicago students on the path to higher education. This path requires Scholars to have faith in the Lord, much like Daniel from the Bible. Selected Scholars are awarded up to $10,000 over 4 years while being simultaneously provided training and support throughout the entire duration of their college career.

How does Daniel Scholars provide support to its students?

  • Spiritually

At Pursue Scholars we invest in our Scholars spiritually through communication and community. Whether it be through retreats, outings, workshops, or monthly check-ins. We are creating opportunities for our Scholar’s faith to be watered and deepen its roots.

  • Socially

Pursue Scholars highly values the importance of our Scholars social well being. We believe one of the best ways do this is through coaching and mentorship. Student’s chances of graduating college increase greatly if they have the right support group. Our Daniel Scholars will be assigned a Pursue Guide that will be in regular communication with them throughout the school year to assist them in any way they can. Scholars will also have access to the vast community of Staff, Alum and other current Scholars to help them along their journey.

 Are you a Daniel Scholar?

Daniel Scholars believes the four critical aspects of servant leadership are integrity, perseverance, skill, and discipline. Students undergo a curriculum focused on training in all four characteristics while in college.

Integrity

A Godly servant has integrity in all the decisions they make. Integrity is how you appear to those around you and who you are in private.

Perseverance

Academics, work, and ministry are challenging to juggle. Knowing that your work for the Lord is not in vain is a powerful motivator to persevere.

Skill

Just as God gifted Daniel with many skills, we are all gifted and creative in different areas.

Discipline

College comes with many new responsibilities but also challenges. Success and growth come from being disciplined.

Pursue Connections

  • Why did we create Pursue Connections?

Getting to know people and making connections is a skill necessary for career advancement. However, making new connections or “networking” is also very frightening for most people. Pursue connections allows our Scholars to network with professionals like yourself in a safe learning environment. They experience the benefits of a networking event without much stress and intimidation.

  • Who are we looking for in Pursue Connections?

We are looking for professionals who would like an opportunity to invest in the next generation of Chicago’s leaders. Learn more about our students and how you can support our mission of developing emerging leaders.
