Meet Elianna Beier

Elianna Beier is a freshman at Trinity Christian College, and she’s majoring in nursing. “I chose nursing as my major because I love working with people and I am very interested in learning the human body,” said Beier. Since the start of her new journey, Beier describes how college is different from high school.

“My transition from high school to college has been different because transitioning to college is more about learning to be an adult and be independent, whereas high school was something you had to get over with before you could become an “adult.” So, with this transition one challenge Beier faced in college thus far is, “ learning how to balance everything, like taking care of myself, doing schoolwork, and having a social life.” While facing these new challenges, Beier expresses, “Pursue Scholars has helped me to prepare for college because they held sessions about certain aspects of college that are helpful to learn about. I also was able to meet people from my school before I moved in.”

However, despite the challenges Beier has faced so far, she has created a great social circle for herself. “Making a group of friends that are like a support group and doing fun things with them has been the highlight of my college experience so far,” said Beier.

One piece of advice she wished she would have received was, “I wished someone would have told me how to create a good schedule. Figure out when you need to eat, when you need to do homework, when you need to sleep, and so on. It is very easy to forget, or not have time, to do basic tasks, or to go to bed on time.” As Elianna continues to grow in her new social group and overcome challenges in college, Pursue Scholars pray that she has a safe and successful first semester.
