Stepping into God's calling

Emmanuel Reid's family valued education, and therefore inspired him in the direction to pursue higher education and follow his passions. However, when applying for college, his biggest obstacle was finding scholarships. Emmanuel wanted to find ways to lessen the burden of financial costs for his parents, which is one reason that led him to Pursue Scholars. Another obstacle he faced while applying was having a spiritual foundation, and knowing that was going to be challenged away from home.

Although Emmanuel experienced challenges before going away for college, during college Emmanuel felt supported by Pursue Scholars. "Getting the Pursue bible as a graduation gift, having that visual reminder that this is one of the most important tools that I would be given in my entire life, it's not something I take for granted, and I treat it with the utmost respect that it deserved, so having that physical reminder was impactful. Also, the networking and being able to connect with other Scholars..." said Reid.
