Paving the way for future scholars

Maribel Magallanes paved the way for future Scholars as she encouraged Kevin Gwin during one campus visit to have a conversation with the Vice president at the time at Taylor University. That conversation led Taylor to encourage more urban leaders to come through the launching of the Act Six program with Pursue Scholars.

"When [Pursue Scholars] will come visit me, to be able to have someone that I knew cared for me and checking in on me and taking the time to mentor, I never had a mentor and I found that to be a huge blessing," said Magallanes.
